Our Bespoke Apparel Sourcing Process

Livingstone International works with clients with a wide range of experience in sourcing bespoke apparel with minimum order quantities starting at 500 units per design.

Four Key Stages

1) Initial Apparel Design & Information

The first stage of our process is to provide you with quotations and lead-times for each of your garment designs. To do this we will require you to supply us with the product information. You can use our Editable Enquiry Form to provide this to us along with your product designs and PDF artworks. Based on your requirements we will then send this information to the relevant factories for initial costings, minimum/repeat order quantities and sample/bulk production lead-times.

We aim to have initial quotations back to you within 5-7 working days but this may take longer if the factories require any clarification on your custom product requirements or due to local holidays in the various countries we source from.

As we source from multiple apparel factories around the world we may give more than one option for you to review.


2) Apparel Sampling

Once you have selected the most suitable factory option offered we are then ready to proceed to initial sampling. The initial samples will be produced using fabric and trims that the factory has available that will not be exact matches to your fabric or colour requirement.

The initial sample is for you to approve the design, fit and artworks. If you require pantone matching colours then lab-dips will be provided for you to approve.

The sampling time-frame will vary from factory to factory and these will have been advised on the initial quotations provided and will only come into effect once you have given us the go-ahead to start the process.


3) Bulk Order Placement & Apparel Production

Once samples have been approved and you are ready to place your custom clothing order, final prices will be confirmed. A sales contract detailing the payment terms and order information will be provided to you on receipt of your purchase order. Deposits will be required for each order and will vary in value as these are calculated on an order to order and client to client basis.

All prices and lead-times are calculated using sea-freight shipping and prices quoted are fully delivered prices to a single address. This includes factors such as shipping, duties and customs clearances. VAT will need to be applied where applicable. All or part of your order can be sent by air-freight if required and quotations can be provided.

Pre-Production samples of your bespoke apparel will be supplied once the factory have received all the approved fabrics and trims. These will need final approval before production can be completed.


4) Bulk Apparel Shipment and Delivery

Once the factory has completed production Livingstone International staff will carry out a final AQL inspection on the finished packaged goods prior to shipping. Please note that there is an industry standard tolerance of +/- 5% on the amount of goods shipped against the amount of goods ordered.

Once your products have been shipped we will be able to advise an estimated date of delivery subject to customs clearances and weather. When the goods arrive into port and have cleared customs we will then be able to confirm a specific date for delivery and will also provide you with a detailed packing list. Final invoices will be provided dated on the day of delivery.
